The reality is, if you’re not spending over $1000, it can be tricky to find a great monitor with a high refresh rate that doesn’t have something wrong with it.

Join us as we go through our list of the best gaming monitors with 144Hz refresh rate and by the end of it, we’re confident you’ll know which one is for you. Our list takes all budgets into consideration, so you should be able to find something within your range.

If you want the best, no matter the cost, you should just skip ahead to the Asus ROG, which offers 4k and stunning visuals. If you want the most affordable, look at the BenQ ZOWIE, which comes at around $200. Without further due, let’s get into it, starting with my personal favorite.

Razer Raptor

Price: $699.99

Compatible: G-Sync & FreeSync

The Razer Raptor 27″ is my personal favorite gaming monitor with a refresh rate of 144Hz. It’s definitely one of the more expensive options on this list, but once I’m done telling you about it, you’ll see why.

When it comes to finding a great WQHD gaming monitor with a higher refresh rate and very few issues, the Razer Raptor 27″ is a top-of-the-line option. I first bought one when I was looking for a WQHD monitor under $1000, and the others had more issues than I was willing to deal with. The first impression I got from this one is that it is very heavy!

The display of this WQHD monitor is incredible. I went from a cheap $100 monitor to this one, and it made all my games look like they were in 4k, and it’s honestly crazy that it’s only QHD. The 144Hz & 1ms response time makes your gameplay seamless, which is great if you play on a high FPS.

As you can see, the Razer Raptor 27″ has RGB lights on the base, which can be controlled via a downloadable driver. They’re very noticeable and fit right in with other RGB gear. The base also allows you to adjust the monitor as needed, moving vertically up and down, and tilting back up to 90-degrees.

My favorite feature, however, is wire management. As you can see in the picture, the monitor includes every cable you could need, including the power cable, HDMI cable, USB-C, and more. They plug into the bottom, go through the hole on the spine of the base piece, and then you cover them with these metal plates that snap into place. It looks insanely cool and keeps your wires organized.

Overall, this monitor is amazing, looks beautiful, has great features, and has a few flashy elements. It’s easy to see why I put it on top.

MSI Optix G24C FreeSync (Curved)

Price: Starting at $246.00

Compatible: FreeSync

The MSI Optix G24C is a budget-friendly LED gaming monitor with a 144Hz refresh rate offering a screen resolution of 1080p. The first remark I want to make about this is that if you’re looking for a good gaming monitor under $300, especially with higher refresh rates, don’t expect to find anything with a higher resolution.

So the first thing I really like about the MSI Optix G24C is the curve. If you haven’t used a curved monitor, it helps keep everything close while still being wide… if that makes sense. It’s also really nice for when you want multiple monitors connected, as they make an even wider curve. I used to own 3 of these using that type of set up.

The VA LCD panel looks great, with good colors and effective blue light reduction (your eyes will thank you). They also use an anti-flicker technology to further help keep the gameplay looking smooth. I’m also a big fan of the red spine for the base.

Overall, given the price, this monitor works great. Most cheaper monitors will be really choppy with your framerates and look mediocre. The MSI Optix G24C is definitely the best gaming monitor 144hz 1ms under $300.

Acer Predator

Price: Starting at $599.99

Compatible: G-Sync

If you know a lot about gaming monitors, then surely you’ve heard of the Acer Predator. As you can see, this monitor just screams gamer, with the cool looking base & red/black color scheme. This was actually the first “better” gaming monitor that I ever purchased, and I’m still a big fan to this day.

Acer Predator Gaming Monitor 144hz

The Acer Predator offers a really beautiful display with a resolution of 1440p in WQHD. Just like the Razer monitor we have listed up top, the quality is astonishing, looking better than when I play games on my 4k TV sometimes. The colors and brightness are really bold.

The 144hz refresh rate & 1ms response time paired with the Flicker-less technology make gameplay extremely seamless and beautiful. The ErgoStand allows you to spin the monitor onto its side for a longer screen, which was great for me as I would write code for work.

The only reason this monitor isn’t listed as my first option is that it is more prone to backlight bleeding. It’s not super noticeable all the time, but it’s still annoying when you’re spending this kind of cash. Other than that, it’s a great monitor.

Price: Starting at $199.99

The BenQ Zowie XL2411P is the most affordable gaming monitor 144hz 1ms on this list, and while it’s not the fanciest one out there, it does a great job for those on a budget.

The screen resolution on the BenQ Zowie XL2411P comes in at 1080p with FHD. This is about what we would expect around this price, and it looks good. The value really comes from the high refresh rate and response time, so even if your games don’t look astonishing, your frame rates won’t get choppy.

A cool feature this monitor uses is Black eQualizer, so if the enemy is hiding among the shadows, the monitor can help distinguish them from their environment. The Exclusive Color Vibrance helps boost the visual clarity.

Overall, it’s not the most exciting monitor out there, but it’s really affordable compared to the other options. The BenQ Zowie XL2411P is best for those who just want something to play their games on without choppy framerates.

Asus VG278Q

Price: Starting at $345.99

Compatible: G-Sync & FreeSync

This Asus Monitor is the best under $500 option we could suggest on this list. For a monitor with only 1080p resolution and FHD display, the visuals look really nice and the gameplay is smooth.

The colors and visuals with this monitor are really bright. There are a few setting modes to help find the best color for your needs. This Asus Monitor also uses eye care technology to reduce eye fatigue.

The 1ms response time and 144hz refresh rate make your gameplay so seamless, and I’ve never really dealt with choppy framerates with this monitor. The ergonomic design is really nice as well, letting you angle/lift the monitor to whichever position works best for you.

This Asus Monitor is the best gaming monitor 144hz 1ms you’ll find at this price range.

Asus ROG Strix Gaming Monitor 144hz 1ms

Price: Starting at $1199.99

Compatible: G-Sync & FreeSync

The Asus ROG is the absolute best gaming monitor 144hz 1ms on this list, offering 4k UHD at 27 inches, with brilliant coloring and smooth gameplay. If you want the best of the best, look no further.

Asus Rog Strix 4k Gaming Monitor 144hz

The Asus ROG offers Asus Eye Care technology with Low Blue Light technology to minimize eye fatigue. As someone who both games a lot and works on computers for a living, I can tell you that eye fatigue is the worst, and monitors that take this into consideration are worth the investment.

One really unique feature about the Asus ROG is the ASUS Aura Sync lighting technology, which offers ambient coloring that comes out of the base of the monitor. If you look at the picture above, you’ll see the light creating a design on the bottom.

The High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode creates a wider color range and higher contrast than traditional monitors, further enhancing the beautiful visuals this monitor offers.

This gaming monitor 144hz 1ms is worth every single penny in my opinion, so if you can afford it, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Hopefully, by now, you know which gaming monitor 144Hz 1ms refresh rate is going to work for you. I’m a big fan of all monitors mentioned on the list, and everyone on our team has used them. While some brands are more known in the gaming community than others, that honestly shouldn’t be the biggest factor in your decision. The quality of a gaming monitor extends beyond the brand.

If you purchase something from this list, let us know in the comments below how it’s working out for you. Does it meet your standards, or are you having issues? We love to hear feedback on this so we can ensure we’re only offering the best of the best. Good luck and game on!
